HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of Deputy Timothy White, 45, who tragically took his own life on August 29, 2024.

Deputy White was found deceased in his vehicle at the Tampa Fire Rescue Headquarters with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He had served with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for 15 years, most recently at the Hillsborough County Courthouse.

“I am devastated to learn that one of our own was suffering in silence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The entire Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office grieves with Deputy White’s loved ones. To anyone in crisis, please know you are not alone; help is available.”

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office extends their gratitude to the Tampa Police Department for their assistance during this difficult time.
