HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County has declared a local state of emergency as Tropical Storm Milton approaches Florida. This emergency order, effective from October 6th to 13th, allows officials to take swift action to protect the community and enables access to federal funds for storm-related expenses.
This declaration comes in addition to the existing state of emergency for Hurricane Helene.

Governor Ron DeSantis has also declared a state of emergency for the entire state of Florida in response to Tropical Storm Milton.
