Hillsborough County Declares Local Emergency, Offers Sandbags Ahead Of Tropical Cyclone Four

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla – Hillsborough County, Florida, has declared a state of local emergency in preparation for potential impacts from Tropical Cyclone Four.

The emergency order, in effect through August 9th, enables the County to take swift action to protect the community and potentially receive federal reimbursement for certain expenses.

Sandbag Distribution:

Residents can obtain up to 10 sandbags per family to help protect their homes from potential flooding. Sandbag distribution will continue until 7 pm on Friday, August 2nd, and resume from 9 am to 7 pm on Saturday, August 3rd at the following locations:

  • Edward Medard Conservation Park
  • E.G. Simmons Conservation Park
  • Ed Radice Sports Complex
  • Larry Sanders Sports Complex

Residents must provide proof of residency (such as a driver’s license). Please note that these parks will be closed to the public during sandbag distribution.
