RIVERVIEW, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help locating anyone with information about a fatal traffic crash on Tuesday on Big Bend Road, just west of US Highway 301.
On June 6, 2023, just after 5 a.m., deputies responded to the intersection of Big Bend Road and Mercadier Lane for reports of a traffic crash with injuries.
Once on scene, deputies located an adult woman in the westbound lanes with significant injuries. Deputies observed a yellow Camaro stopped just west of the victim on the north shoulder. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives interviewed several witnesses and learned the victim, an adult woman, was crossing Big Bend Road while walking her bicycle when she was hit, potentially by several vehicles, and killed. While one driver did remain at the scene and is cooperating, detectives are working to identify and locate others who may have been involved.
Detectives are now appealing to the public for information regarding two vehicles of interest seen in the vicinity after the collision.
“We are committed to finding answers and bringing justice to those involved,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about the vehicles of interest to come forward and help us piece together what happened. Your assistance is crucial in helping us provide closure to the victim’s family.”
According to witnesses, the first vehicle of interest is described as a silver or white lifted F150 pickup truck. This vehicle was traveling westbound on Big Bend Road after the crash, approaching from northbound US Highway 301.

The second vehicle of interest is a dark-colored SUV. It is unclear where this SUV originated from before it was seen traveling westbound on Big Bend Road after the collision.
The F150 pickup truck and the dark SUV may exhibit damage on their front bumper and undercarriage due to the crash.
