HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – With temperatures expected to drop to or below 40 degrees with wind chills on Saturday night, Hillsborough County will activate its cold weather shelter program on Saturday, Dec. 21. The shelters are available for individuals experiencing homelessness and those without adequate heating who cannot find other accommodations.
Due to anticipated high demand and limited capacity, residents in need of shelter are encouraged to first explore options with friends and family.

Hillsborough County is partnering with local organizations to provide cold weather shelters for adults. The shelters will accept guests from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, unless they reach capacity earlier.

Support for Families with Children
Metropolitan Ministries is offering a limited number of single-night motel vouchers for families with minor children. Pre-registration is required, and vouchers will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Families should call (813) 209-1176 by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 to apply.
