HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – In honor of 813 Day on August 13, Hillsborough County is inviting current and former residents to celebrate by sharing their favorite recipes that capture the unique flavors of the 813 area. This initiative, dubbed the “Taste of 813,” encourages participants to showcase dishes that define the region’s cuisine and contribute to its reputation as a food lover’s paradise.
The County’s social media team is collecting recipes that hold special meaning to those in the community. These recipes will be featured on Hillsborough County’s social platforms, turning 813 Day into a culinary celebration.
To participate, residents can submit their recipes for a chance to be featured on Hillsborough County’s social media.

Additionally, three local restaurants are joining in the celebration with their own special creations for 813 Day. Tacos Las Californias in Town ‘N Country will debut the Quesabirria Taco, Crossroad Hot Chicken in Brandon will introduce the Tampa Hot Chicken, and Revolution Ice Cream in Seminole Heights will offer a special Rum Cake Ice Cream.
