Hillsborough County is taking action to expedite Hurricane Milton recovery efforts. On Wednesday, the Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved the allocation of $60 million from reserve funds to support debris removal and other emergency protective measures.

The funds will be transferred from the Catastrophic Disaster Recovery Fund reserves to the BOCC – FEMA Hurricane Milton – Disaster Events Fund. This move comes as Hillsborough County remains under a local state of emergency due to the impact of Hurricane Milton.
