HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – With temperatures expected to dip near or below 40 degrees with wind chill this week, Hillsborough County is activating its cold weather shelters program to provide refuge for those in need.
The shelters will be open Monday and Tuesday nights, January 20th and 21st, for individuals experiencing homelessness and those lacking adequate heat in their homes.
Shelter organizers anticipate high demand and limited capacity, so residents are encouraged to exhaust all other options, such as staying with friends or family, before seeking shelter.
