High-Speed Car Crash Overnight Claims Life of 20-Year-Old Woman

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – A 20-year-old woman from Zephyrhills, was killed overnight in a single-vehicle car crash.

Florida Highway Patrol says the woman was traveling westbound in the outside lane of County Line Road, east of Solitude Drive, at a high rate of speed when the vehicle lost traction on the wet roadway. Her car began to rotate northwest, collided with a curb along the road edge, then overturned as it departed the roadway. According to Troopers, the car overturned, and the roof of the vehicle collided with a tree.

The woman died at the scene of the crash. FHP Troopers said the driver was wearing a seatbelt and no passengers or other vehicles were involved.
