ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A young man lost his life in a tragic collision this past weekend in St. Petersburg. The accident, involving a speeding blue Toyota Corolla and a turning black Ford Edge, has left investigators working to determine the exact circumstances and who was behind the wheel of the Corolla.
On Saturday afternoon, July 14th, a fatal accident occurred in St. Petersburg at the intersection of 22nd Avenue South and 13th Street South. A speeding blue Toyota Corolla, occupied by 20-year-old Jeremiah Jones and a 26-year-old male, collided with a black Ford Edge making a turn.

The Toyota rolled multiple times, ejecting Jones who later succumbed to his injuries at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital on July 15th. The condition of the other passenger remains unknown.
Authorities are investigating to determine who was driving the Toyota at the time of the crash. The driver of the Ford Edge remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
