Hernando Man Killed In Airborne Crash, Striking Tree On US-41 In Citrus County

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A Hernando man was killed in a crash that happened on Monday around 4:16 am, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say a Chevy Silverado, driven by a 62-year-old Hernando man, was traveling southbound on US-41. 

South of Davidson Avenue, the driver lost control of the vehicle, according to troopers.

The vehicle entered a construction zone, struck a water pipe, became airborne, struck a tree, and overturned. 

The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, troopers say.
