Hernando Deputies Seek Suspect In Violent Spring Hill Knife, Slashing Attack

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is searching for Steven Slattery, 39, after he allegedly slashed a man’s face with a knife during a dispute at a Spring Hill residence on July 20th.

Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting an injured person at 6715 Treehaven Drive around 2:15 a.m.

The victim, found bleeding profusely in a neighbor’s yard, stated that Slattery had attacked him with a knife after accusing him and others of theft. Slattery reportedly threatened to kill someone and expressed indifference towards returning to prison.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover. Slattery fled the scene and remains at large. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
