HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – State Attorney Bill Gladson announced the indictment of 21-year-old Donald Donell Jamison for the July 30, 2024, shooting at a Brooksville restaurant that killed 53-year-old Claudia Barbosa and injured another person.
Jamison faces charges of Premeditated First-Degree Murder, Attempted Felony Murder, Robbery with a Firearm, and Escape from a Law Enforcement Officer.

Following the incident, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. Surveillance footage and witness accounts corroborated the events, leading to a statewide alert for the suspect’s vehicle.
The Florida Highway Patrol apprehended Jamison, who matched the suspect’s description. During custody, Jamison attempted to escape but was quickly apprehended.
