DADE CITY, Fla. – At 12:12 p.m. on Wednesday, Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services (HCFES) responded to a residential fire at the 33000 block of Ranch Rd. HCFES arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and fire from an attached aluminum structure behind the home. Crews initiated a fire attack limiting the damage to the home. There was an occupant who lived in the attached structure. He was not injured resulting from the fire.
The fire was completely under control at 12:37 p.m. The fire caused extensive damage to the attached structure, but there was minimal damage to the home.
The origin of the fire is currently under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshall’s Office.
HCFES responded with 3 fire engines, 2 ALS medic units, 1 water tenders, 1 Battalion Chief, and 1 Administrative Chief for a total of 15 personnel.
