Hernando County Fire Personnel Rescue Person From A House Fire Monday

SPRING HILL, Fla. – At 5:58 a.m., Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services (HCFES) received a 911 call reporting a residential structure fire in the 8000 Block of Elgrove Street in Spring Hill.

Fire units arrived on the scene within five minutes and found a single-family residence with heavy fire and smoke conditions present. HCFES also received a report of a possible victim still in the home. Firefighters aggressively entered the residence and performed a primary search of the home, locating one victim.

Firefighters quickly pulled the victim from the residence and Paramedics administered emergency medical care on scene and transported the patient to an area hospital in critical condition. After an extensive search, no other victims were located.

Firefighters were also able to make an aggressive fire attack, extinguishing the fire quickly and preventing further fire spread. There were no reported injuries to fire personnel. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshall’s Office.

HCFES responded to the scene with 3 engine companies, 1 ladder truck, 2 medic/ambulance units, 2 Battalion Chiefs, and 1 Administrative Chief for a total of 19 personnel on scene.
