SPRING HILL, Fla. – Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) swiftly responded to a house fire on the 6100 block of Belkton Avenue in Spring Hill just before 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke pouring from the roof of the residence.

Thanks to an aggressive firefighting effort, HCFR contained the blaze to the area where it originated, minimizing structural damage. At the time of the fire, no one was home, and bystanders alerted 911 after spotting the flames.

During the operation, firefighters successfully rescued one dog and two birds from the home. All pets were reported safe, and no human injuries occurred.

Investigators determined that the fire was caused by an electrical issue. This incident underscores the importance of early detection and quick reporting to limit fire damage and save lives.
