Hernando County Declares State Of Local Emergency Due To Impending Weather

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Hernando County Emergency Management has enacted Proclamation No. 2024-02, declaring a State of Local Emergency due to ongoing weather concerns. Government officials are actively evaluating current and forecasted conditions to determine the need for further protective measures.

This declaration empowers the county government to take necessary actions to protect the community’s health, safety, and welfare.

These actions may include emergency purchases, securing additional resources, renting equipment, hiring workers, and utilizing volunteers. The Local State of Emergency will remain in effect for seven days or until it is rescinded.
