POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Residents of the Solivita community in Poinciana are on alert after a series of vehicle burglaries occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) is investigating the incidents, attributing them to suspects, believed to be teenagers, known as “handle-flippers.”

According to the PCSO, the suspects walked from car to car throughout the Solivita neighborhood, testing door handles. They targeted vehicles left unlocked, stealing items from within.

The PCSO is urging residents to review any home surveillance footage they may have from the early morning hours of March 11th and to report any suspicious activity.
