Haines City First “Senior Expo” Scheduled For Nov. 5

HAINES CITY — What’s available for seniors in the Haines City area?

There’s a great way to find out.

The City of Haines City and Visit Central Florida are presenting the first-ever Senior Expo on Nov. 5. This event will allow local seniors to better know what programs, activities, and services are available.

The Senior Expo takes place at Lake Eve Event Center, 799 Johns Ave., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature a wide variety of information. Attendees will have the opportunity for some one-on-one time with local businesses and organizations to see what they have to offer.

“For a community like ours that has a large senior population, especially this time of year, it’s important to let them know what’s available in terms of services, programs, and even for leisure,” said Terrell Griffin, Parks and Recreation Director. “We’re excited to be working with Visit Central Florida for this event, which we think will be incredibly helpful for a demographic that, too often, gets overlooked.”

In addition to the plethora of information available, the expo will also feature vendors, raffles, giveaways, health screenings and door prizes, including tickets to LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

For vendors wishing to participate in the Senior Expo or for more information, contact Special Events Supervisor Lindsaia Johansmeyer at 863-421-5569 or ljohansmeyer@hainescity.com.
