Gus Bilirakis Wins Re-Election In Florida 12th Congressional District

Incumbent U.S. Congressman Gus Bilirakis has secured a commanding majority of the electorate in today’s general election contest for Florida’s 12th Congressional District.

BROOKSVILLE, Fla – Incumbent U.S. Congressman Gus Bilirakis has secured a commanding majority of the electorate in today’s general election contest for Florida’s 12th Congressional District.

“I’m humbled by the confidence constituents have placed in me and I thank my opponent for a civil debate about how to improve the lives of our neighbors while strengthening our community and country,” said Congressman Gus Bilirakis.

With Florida’s adoption of a new congressional map earlier this year, its 12th congressional district shifted north. It now includes all of Citrus and Hernando counties as well as the vast majority of Pasco County.

According to his campaign, Congressman Bilirakis has spent much of his time in recent months engaging with key community stakeholders, meeting with constituents, and working to develop a better understanding of his new constituents’ needs.

“I’ve always said that the best Members of Congress are those who truly listen to the people they represent,” added Bilirakis.  “As I’ve gotten to know voters throughout Florida’s newly drawn 12th Congressional District, it has become obvious that the majority share my conservative values and my genuine concern for both the direction of our country and the economic hardship Americans are enduring.  They expect my colleagues and I to deliver on our promises to create: an Economy that is Strong, a Nation that is Safe, a Future that is Free, and a Government that is Accountable. I am confident that we can get our country moving forward again.”
