A Guatemalan national with a history of illegal re-entry into the United States has been sentenced to nearly two years in federal prison. Eddie Damian-Guillen, 38, was sentenced on February 13, 2025, to 23 months’ imprisonment for illegally re-entering the country after being deported multiple times.
According to Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus, Damian-Guillen was found in the United States at Pike County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania, where he was being held for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Records show that Damian-Guillen had been previously deported from the U.S. in 2003, 2004, and 2020.
His 2020 deportation followed a conviction and sentence for first-degree assault in Connecticut, where he ran over a victim with his car after a bar fight.
Following his prison sentence, Damian-Guillen will be deported from the United States.
