In a first for the city, more than 1,200 drones will illuminate the Green Bay night sky as part of the NFL Draft presented by Bud Light weekend festivities. This cutting-edge aerial display is scheduled to take place after the conclusion of the third round of the draft, at approximately 11 p.m. Central Time.

The choreographed drone formations will soar above the iconic Lambeau Field, offering a breathtaking spectacle that honors the rich history of the NFL Draft and the enduring legacy of the Green Bay Packers. This innovative entertainment is a key part of the league’s efforts to create a memorable experience for fans attending and following the highly anticipated event.

The drone show has been the result of close collaboration and rigorous approval processes involving the NFL, the Green Bay Packers organization, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and local law enforcement agencies. This event represents a carefully managed exception to the typically stringent airspace regulations in place during the NFL Draft.

Safety remains the paramount concern for the NFL. Organizers have emphasized that the drone show will be conducted under strict FAA safety protocols. These measures include ensuring that no drones will fly over people, vehicles, or crowds. While the display will be visible to fans in the vicinity, the drone operations will be confined to a designated zone specifically chosen to eliminate any potential risk to public safety.

It’s important to note that the NFL Draft has been officially designated a NO DRONE ZONE by the FAA. Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) are currently in effect during the Draft period: Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, from 11 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, and Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. until 6:59 p.m. Eastern Time. During these times, only drones operated by law enforcement or those with explicit FAA approval will be permitted to fly within the restricted airspace.

Fans in Green Bay and the surrounding areas can look forward to witnessing this unprecedented visual spectacle as a highlight of the NFL Draft weekend. The synchronized dance of lights against the night sky promises to be a memorable moment in the city’s history.
