Governor Ron DeSantis today announced the appointment of Ernie Ferraresso to the Florida Cybersecurity Advisory Council, underscoring the state’s commitment to strengthening its cyber defense and critical infrastructure.
Ernie Ferraresso serves as the Director of the Florida Center for Cybersecurity at the University of South Florida, a leading institution in advancing cybersecurity initiatives.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Ferraresso also holds the position of Senior Fellow at Auburn University’s McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security, where he contributes to national cybersecurity strategies.
Ferraresso earned his bachelor’s degree from Barry University and brings extensive experience and leadership in cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection to the advisory council.
The Florida Cybersecurity Advisory Council provides guidance and expertise to strengthen the state’s cyber defenses, ensuring the security of critical systems and protecting against evolving cyber threats.
