Governor DeSantis, First Lady DeSantis, and their kids joined the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert, made a stage appearance, and the crowd went crazy, chanting “USA, USA.”
First Lady DeSantis shared that Lynyrd Skynyrd donated $100,000 to the Florida Disaster fund, which the Seminole Tribe then matched for a total of $200,000.
Through the First Lady’s leadership, the Florida Disaster Fund has already raised $45 million.
“We are big friends and fans of the Van Zant’s and Lynyrd Skynyrd. So last night we were at a concert with them in Hollywood at the Hard Rock Casino and they made a $100,000 donation which was matched by the Seminole tribe. So, that’s 200,000 more that we had,” said First Lady Casey DeSantis.
Last week, First Lady Casey DeSantis announced that the Florida Disaster Fund has raised over $45 million since activation.
Additionally, the First Lady has worked with the State Disaster Recovery Mental Health Coordinator, Sara Newhouse, to compile a webpage of resources to help first responders navigate resources for mental health needs post-hurricane.
