Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Alexis A. Lambert Thursday as the new Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Lambert, a Tallahassee native with extensive experience in state government, will bring her leadership and strategic expertise to oversee Florida’s environmental initiatives.
Lambert has served as Chief of Staff for the Division of Bond Finance since 2018, where she supported the Governor’s debt reduction strategy, helping reduce the state’s debt by more than a quarter since Florida’s founding. Prior to her role in Bond Finance, Lambert was Chief of Staff at the Florida Department of Health (DOH), overseeing 15,000 employees and coordinating with the DEP on statewide health and environmental issues.
