SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. – A 71-year-old Sun City Center woman has died following a collision between her golf cart and a van at an intersection in the area. The incident occurred on Wednesday at approximately 8:00 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 31-year-old Tampa man was driving a Ram ProMaster van eastbound on State Road 674. A 71-year-old Sun City Center woman was operating a Yamaha golf cart northbound on Pebble Beach Boulevard.

At the intersection of SR-674 and Pebble Beach Boulevard, the driver of the Ram ProMaster van failed to stop at a red traffic signal and collided with the golf cart, which was traveling through the intersection with a green light.
The driver of the van sustained no injuries. The driver of the golf cart was transported to a local hospital where she later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
ORIGINAL REPORT: A crash involving a golf cart and a truck has prompted a road closure in Sun City Center, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
The incident occurred on Sun City Center Boulevard near Pebble Beach Boulevard, resulting in the shutdown of all eastbound lanes. HCSO deputies are currently on the scene investigating the crash.

Authorities were advising motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes to bypass the closure. Traffic is expected to be significantly impacted while the investigation is underway.
