TAMPA, Fla. – Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer has some tips to help residents in the City of Tampa get ready to vote in the upcoming City of Tampa Municipal Election.

Make sure you’re registered to vote.

The voter registration deadline for this election is February 6, and only registered voters living in the City of Tampa may participate in the election. Voters who are already registered to vote in Florida can update their name or address any time before voting.

Look up your Sample Ballot.

Sample ballots are available at VoteHillsborough.gov/SampleBallot. See which races you’ll be voting on, and make your voting decisions before going to vote.

Consider Vote By Mail.

Vote By Mail is the most convenient way to vote, because the elections office mails your ballot to you. Mail ballots requested by absent military and overseas voters went out today, and the first mailing to domestic voters is scheduled for next Thursday.

It’s not too late to request a mail ballot, and Supervisor Latimer wants to be sure voters know they must submit a new request for the municipal election. All Vote By Mail requests expired last year, because new election law requires voters to submit a new Vote By Mail request after each General Election if they want to vote by mail. Voters can call (813) 744-5900 or visit VoteHillsborough.gov to request a mail ballot.

Consider Voting Early.

If you prefer to vote in person, you can vote early at any of seven locations. The following Early Voting locations will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday, February 27 – Sunday, March 5: C. Blythe Andrews, Jr. Public Library; Fred B. Karl County Center; Jan Kaminis Platt Regional Library; New Tampa Regional Library; North Tampa Branch Library; Robert West Tampa Branch Library; L. Gilder Elections Service Center.
