After Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, MSNBC contributor Malcolm Nance left his cushy job to join the war effort against the Kremlin.
Nance, a U.S. Navy veteran, made a big show of his move to sign on to a group of pro-Ukrainian volunteers called the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine in April 2022.
As Fox News recounted in March 2023, apparently after he had returned to the U.S., Nance spent more time fighting with the other volunteers and doing so on X than fighting Russians.
Still, he at least went. And Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene wants other sycophants for Ukraine to do likewise.
On Wednesday, the Georgia Republican filed an amendment to an upcoming military aid package for Ukraine that would require lawmakers who vote for the funding measure to pull a Nance.
“Any Member of Congress who votes in favor of this Act shall be required to conscript in the Ukrainian military,” Greene’s bill says.
Her plan allows lawmakers to choose which branch of the Ukrainian military they want to join.
On X, after a reporter posted her amendment, Greene replied, “I mean if you want to fund the war, why don’t you go fight in it. Show your support for Ukraine.”

In a second X post, she added, “No money for Ukraine!!! The American people demand a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia!!! No more death, no more murder!!! Defend America’s border!!!”
