Georgia Rep. MTG Says Would-Be Assassin Would Be ‘Met With A Big Wall Of Bullets’

Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene took a shot at the left-wing judicial system that allows her would-be assassin to remain free, adding that the defendant would meet a “wall of bullets” if he tried to follow through on his plot before he actually reports to prison.

Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene took a shot at the left-wing judicial system that allows her would-be assassin to remain free, adding that the defendant would meet a “wall of bullets” if he tried to follow through on his plot before he actually reports to prison.

The firebrand GOP lawmaker spoke at a town hall event in Floyd County, Georgia, on Saturday, and posted a clip of her remarks on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

During her comments, Greene spotlighted the discrepancy of 95% of Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters “get off” of charges filed against them, while pro-Trump protesters involved in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot still “rot in jail for walking through the Capitol.”

She also underscored that by citing the case of Joseph Morelli.

As the Tampa Free Press reported last month, Morelli, a 51-year-old New York man, was sentenced to three months in prison for threatening to kill Greene in 2022.

He did so by leaving seven threatening voicemails on her office phone. “I’m gonna have to take your life into my own hands … I’m gonna hurt you. Physically, I’m gonna harm you,” Morelli said in one of the messages. He added during another that he would “pay someone 500 bucks to take a baseball bat and crack your skull.”

He pleaded guilty in February, but was not sentenced until Aug. 24. At the sentencing hearing, U.S. District Judge Brenda Sannes said Morelli did not have to report to prison until Oct. 2.

Recalling that, Greene told the audience in Floyd County, “After he pled guilty, he got to go home. The judge sent him home. … A man who pled guilty to planning to murder a member of Congress went back home.”

Greene noted that Morelli’s sentencing hearing was rescheduled four different times, and after finally being punished in late August, he still gets to remain at home for nearly six weeks before his jail time begins.

“Sure, he could come on down and kill me. He can hire someone to kill me,” Greene said when an audience member made the point that she was still at risk.

Then she added, to raucous applause, “He’s gonna be met with a big wall of bullets if he comes to my house. Because I’m a big believer in semi-automatic AR-15s. Thank you very much.”
