Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia on Tuesday brought the receipts as to why she wants House GOP Speaker Mike Johnson tossed from his position.

The Georgia Republican pleaded her case in a five-page letter to fellow Republican lawmakers. She began by outlining seven promises Johnson made to his caucus, including working to restore transparency to the legislative process, persuade the American people about the Republican agenda, and expand the GOP’s slim House majority.

“Mike Johnson has unfortunately not lived up to a single one of his self-imposed tenets,” Greene wrote.

Among Johnson’s sins were his working behind closed doors with Democrats to pass massive spending and defense bills, ousting former Rep. George Santos who had not committed a crime, and continuing the continuing resolution process.

Johnson also has pushed for “fully funding abortion, the trans agenda, the climate agenda, foreign wars, and [President Joe] Biden’s border crisis,” she added.

Greene also produced a list of left-wing projects funded under the House’s latest spending bills. It included things like $400,000 each for an LGBTQ “care center” for children, a “Gender Affirming Clothing Program” for kids, and an LGBT group that “provides undergarments to transgender people that hide breasts and genitalia.”

The measure also sent $1.8 million to a Rhode Island hospital that provides abortions up to 22 weeks and $650,000 for a hospital in New Hampshire that provides late-term abortions.

“There is little daylight between [former Democratic House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi’s omnibus in the 117th Congress and Mike Johnson’s omnibus in the 118th Congress, in spite of Americans giving Republicans the majority in order to stop the Democrats’ ‘America Last’ destructive agenda,” Greene wrote.

Despite a “razor-thin” majority, she added, GOP lawmakers could have secured the border, removed spending for abortion and the “trans agenda” and defunded Special Counsel Jack Smith’s “witch hunt and 91 indictments” against former President Donald Trump and the FBI’s war on pro-life activists.

“We could have achieved other worthy victories if we had only put up a fight against Democrats. Instead, Mike Johnson worked with [Senate Democratic Majority Leader] Chuck Schumer rather than with us, and gave Joe Biden and the Democrats everything they wanted—no different from how a Speaker Hakeem Jeffries would have done,” Greene argued.

“I will not tolerate our elected Republican Speaker Mike Johnson serving the Democrats and the Biden administration and helping them achieve their policies that are destroying our country,” Greene continued.

“He is throwing our own razor-thin majority into chaos by not serving his own GOP conference that elected him. Nothing says shooting within our own tent like a Republican Speaker of the House who makes his rank-and-file Members vote to fund full-term abortion in order to pay our military soldiers.”

She also noted that electing a new GOP speaker will not give the majority to the Democrats, unless more Republicans retire early or actually vote for Jeffries.

“I want President Trump to win and deliver a Republican-controlled White House and Republican-controlled Senate. I know how important all of this is,” she said.

Yet Johnson supports Democrats’ priorities from funding Ukraine, to not stopping the illegal-immigrant invasion, to renewing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

“With so much at stake for our future and the future of our children, I will not tolerate this type of Republican ‘leadership.’ This has been a complete and total surrender to, if not complete and total lockstep with, the Democrats’ agenda that has angered our Republican base so much and given them very little reason to vote for a Republican House majority,” she concluded.

“As a matter of fact, if we win the House this fall, it will only be because President Trump is on the ballot, not because we have earned it. What is the future of our party and our country if Republicans continue to lay down and do nothing to stop the Democrats?”

“There are no more excuses.  And if these actions by the leader of our conference continue, then we are not a Republican party — we are a Uniparty that is hell-bent on remaining on the path of self-inflicted destruction. I will neither support nor take part in any of that, and neither will the people we represent,” Greene wrote.
