Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said on Sunday that she’s not ready to give up on getting rid of Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.
Appearing on Fox Business News, the Georgia Republican announced that she would again file articles of impeachment against the beleaguered homeland security chief who has overseen a massive onslaught of illegal immigration.
“We’ve had hearing after hearing, listening to parents cry over their children murdered by fentanyl. We are wondering how many dead American bodies have to pile up before Republicans in Congress get serious about impeaching Secretary Alejanndro Mayorkas,” Greene told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo.

“Our country is in severe danger of having a terrorist attack right on our homeland, as Americans are killed daily by the [drug] cartels flooding our country with illegal aliens,” she continued.
Greene’s previous effort failed last week when eight Republicans joined Democrats in defeating her impeachment resolution, which was based on Mayorkas’ dereliction of duty in failing to secure the border.
Greene was even more determined upon learning just before the vote that two of her constituents were killed in a car crash in Texas, after they were struck head-on by a human smuggler bringing illegal immigrants into the country.
The GOP lawmakers who sided with Democrats in saving Mayorkas’ job included: Reps. Ken Buck of Colorado, Darrell Issa of California, Tom McClintock of California, Patrick McHenry, R-North Carolina, John Duarte of R-California, Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, Cliff Bentz of Oregon, and Mike Turner of Ohio.

Greene told Bartiromo that it was “absolutely outrageous” that they voted to keep Mayorkas.
“This time, the Republicans in Congress better deliver different results,” she added. “Mayorkas must be impeached, and the invasion must stop.”
Greene also noted that some of these Republicans aren’t as hardcore on impeachment as they claim.
Last week’s vote to defeat Greene’s resolution sent her bill to the House Judiciary Committee. She pointed out that four of the Republicans who saved Mayorkas are on that committee, and yet her bill is “sitting on a shelf collecting dust.”
“We need Republicans in Congress who are willing to hold people accountable,” Greene added, “not just talk the tough talk on TV, and have 5-minute hearings and write strongly worded letters.”
“We have to hold Mayorkas accountable. He must be impeached, And we have to continue to go after the Biden administration for this failure to protect our country.”
