Georgia Man Killed After Being Ejected From Car When Running Red Light In Florida

According to authorities, a 30-year-old man from Georgia passed away early on Saturday morning after being thrown from his vehicle in an accident.

According to authorities, a 30-year-old man from Georgia passed away early on Saturday morning after being thrown from his vehicle in an accident.

Around 4:49 a.m., the Ocilla, Georgia man was driving his Dodge Charger north on 7th Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say that a 21-year-old Wimauma man was traveling east on SR-674 in a Ford F150.

The Georgia man allegedly ran a stop sign as he got closer to the intersection and into the F150’s path.

According to FHP, the truck struck the Charger and both cars swerved to the unpaved northeast shoulder of the road. According to troopers, the 30-year-old man was ejected from the Charger.

Officials say he was taken to the hospital, where he passed away.

According to troopers, the passenger of the Charger, a 22-year-old man from Ocilla, Georgia, was hospitalized after sustaining significant injuries.

According to the FHP, neither the Charger’s driver nor passenger had on a seatbelt at the moment of the collision.

The Wimauma man and his 27-year-old passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
