An 85-year-old man, Wayne Eaton, was arrested on Friday night for allegedly shooting and killing his son, Troy Eaton, during a fishing tournament held at the family-owned Lakeview Drive Tournament Lakes in Covington, Georgia.
Authorities responded to the scene around 7 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Troy Eaton deceased inside a building on the property. Wayne Eaton was taken into custody without incident.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, leaving family and community members in shock and disbelief.

Lakeview Drive Tournament Lakes is a popular fishing spot where people pay to participate in competitions. The incident occurred in front of numerous tournament participants, leaving them horrified and traumatized.
Wayne Eaton has been charged with malice murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He is currently being held at the Newton County Jail.
