A Georgia man has been arrested on charges of Sexual Battery While Using a Weapon, and Possession of MDMA.
On June 19, during the early morning hours, two juvenile girls reported to a Bay County Sheriff’s Office deputy that one of them had been forcibly raped at a nearby home.
During the initial investigation, the girls identified Branden Green, age 33, of La Grange, Georgia, as the suspect when he drove by the deputy and the victim on a golf cart.
Deputies quickly made contact with Green and detained him as BCSO Criminal Investigations responded to the scene.
The child victim was taken to a local hospital to meet with a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner from the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center Sexual Assault Program.
It was determined that there was physical evidence of a sexual assault. During an interview, the victim stated Green held a knife to her and forced her to participate in various sex acts with him against her will.
Investigators say a search warrant was conducted at Green’s residence where investigators were able to locate several key pieces of evidence that corroborated the victim’s statement.
Also located during the search warrant was MDMA or, “Ecstasy.”
Green was booked into the Bay County Jail and is awaiting his first appearance.
