A Georgia judge has ruled that seven new election rules passed by the State Election Board are “illegal, unconstitutional, and void.”
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Thomas Cox’s decision nullified several controversial measures, including those requiring hand-counting of ballots and changes related to election certification processes.

The rules, backed by Trump-endorsed Republicans, had drawn criticism from Democratic groups and election officials, who argued they could delay certification and complicate the vote tallying process.
The state may appeal this ruling, with further litigation expected.
