Some stories are easy to write, the narrative just rolls off the tips of your fingers. Regarding the video below, I have no words. Simply, don’t do this.
Yes, the Colonial Pipeline was hacked and engineers are working feverishly to have the systems back online as quickly as possible. This downed line has caused some shortages in the supply of fuel in many states, but panic only compounds the problem,
States like Florida, have an abundance of fuel due to vessel delivery and not reliant on the downed pipeline.
Hoarding gas, filling containers, and lack of common sense has created issues and will contribute to artifical inflation of prices.
The lady in the video below is not only hoarding fuel, contributing to the problem, but also putting herself in grave danger. The grocery bags she’s using, will not withstand the chemical structure of the gasoline.
Gasoline easily melts through certain types of plastic because the chemical structure of gasoline and of simple plastics are very similar. If she has any more than a few minutes’ drive home, the gasoline will dissolve the plastic bag(s) and make a huge mess of her trunk, and hopefully not combust. Sigh.
