In a shocking incident that unfolded in Clark County, Nevada, a district court judge was viciously attacked by a felon during a probation court hearing.
The assailant, Deobra Redden, lunged over the judge’s bench, landing directly on top of her and causing her to fall to the floor.
The incident took place as Judge Mark Kay Holthus was sentencing Deobra Redden on a charge of attempted battery with substantial bodily harm. As Redden’s attorney requested probation for his client, Judge Holthus responded, “I think it’s time he got a taste of something else.”
This remark seemed to trigger Redden, who unleashed a barrage of expletives before launching himself at the judge.
Officials also stated Judge Holthus was injured, and her condition is being monitored.
