A fugitive wanted for shooting at police officers in Pennsylvania was apprehended in Fort Pierce, Florida, last Wednesday.

Darrell Barham, who was facing multiple charges including aggravated assault on law enforcement, was arrested without incident by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Barham was wanted in connection with an October 17, 2024, incident in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, where he allegedly fired several rounds at Pittsburgh Police Detectives while they were conducting an investigation.

At the time of the incident, Barham was already under federal supervision for a prior drug conviction, which resulted in a federal supervised release violation warrant.

The U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, in collaboration with Allegheny County Police, tracked Barham to Florida. On January 23, 2025, the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Task Force, with assistance from Fort Pierce Police and St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, located and arrested Barham.

“The members of the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force worked tirelessly and diligently to locate Darrell Barham in Fort Pierce, Florida,” said U.S. Marshal Stephen Eberle. “And as a result of the quick actions of our Marshal Services counterparts in Southern Florida, this extremely dangerous individual is now off the streets and in custody.”
