POLK COUNTY, Fla. – 31-year-old Garet Hohenberger, Jr. of Frostproof is the newest guest at Sheriff Grady Judd’s “Bed & Breakfast” after a brief car chase and foot pursuit on Thursday evening.

A Polk County Sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop after Hohenberger failed to stop at a stop sign. Hohenberger fled, leading deputies on a short chase before turning onto a dead-end road.

He then abandoned his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Hohenberger admitted he ran because he knew his license was suspended.

“Hohenberger was taken to the Polk Pokey and charged with fleeing to elude (2-counts), driving while license suspended/revoked (DWLSR), driving an unregistered vehicle, failure to carry insurance, attaching an unassigned tag, resisting, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia,” said Polk County Sheriff’s Office in a social statement.
