FROSTPROOF, Fla. – A 42-year-old Frostproof man was arrested Monday evening following a disturbance at the Camp Inn RV Resort, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).
Deputies responded to a call at the resort on US 27 at approximately 11:11 PM on April 7th. The caller reported that a shirtless man was acting aggressively, yelling, and cursing outside a residence.
The man was identified as Terry Smith, 42, of Frostproof.

Upon arrival, deputies found Smith sitting in a golf cart, holding a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey, with a knife visible in his pocket.
Deputies asked Smith to exit the golf cart and secure the knife, but he refused to cooperate and was subsequently arrested.
The investigation revealed that Smith had entered a woman’s residence within the community. The woman, noting his apparent intoxication, repeatedly asked him to leave. Smith allegedly pushed the woman down on a couch and refused to leave until another resident intervened.

Due to Smith’s instability during a Field Sobriety Test, nearly falling several times, the deputy discontinued the test.
At the Polk County Jail, Smith provided breath samples that registered 0.213 and 0.220. The legal blood alcohol content (BAC) limit in Florida is 0.08.
Terry Smith was charged with:
- DUI
- Burglary with Battery
- Resisting Arrest
