A Florida man is a million dollars richer, thanks to a lucky scratch-off ticket.
Miguel Villavicencio, 59, claimed a $1 million top prize from the Florida Lottery’s Gold Rush Doubler scratch-off game. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $685,000.
Villavicencio purchased his winning ticket at Las Cuatro Hermanas Supermarket in Hialeah. The store will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the lucky ticket.

The $5 Gold Rush Doubler game offers over $188 million in cash prizes, including 28 top prizes of $1 million. With odds of winning at 1-in-3.98, it’s a popular choice among Florida Lottery players.
Scratch-off games are a significant revenue generator for the Florida Lottery, accounting for approximately 74% of ticket sales. Since their inception, scratch-off games have awarded over $63.1 billion in prizes and generated more than $19.24 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
