Frito-Lay has issued a recall for a limited number of 13 oz. bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips due to the potential presence of nacho cheese tortilla chips, which contain milk. This poses a risk to consumers with milk allergies or severe sensitivities.

The recalled product was distributed to various retailers, including grocery, convenience, and drug stores, as well as e-commerce platforms, in the following 13 states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. These chips were available for purchase as early as March 7, 2025.

Frito-Lay reports that no allergic reactions related to this issue have been reported so far. The recall does not affect any other Tostitos products, flavors, sizes, or variety packs.

The recall involves less than 1,300 bags. Here’s the specific information to identify the recalled product:

  • Product Description: Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips
  • Size: 13 oz (368.5 grams)
  • UPC Code: 28400 52848
  • Date & Manufacturing Code:
    • Must have both the “Guaranteed Fresh” date of 20 MAY 2025
    • AND one of the following Manufacturing Codes (where “XX” is any number from 30 up to 55):
      • 471106504 18 13:XX
      • 471106505 85 13:XX
      • 471106506 85 13:XX
      • 471106507 85 13:XX

Frito-Lay advises consumers with a milk allergy or sensitivity to discard the product immediately and refrain from consumption. The company has notified the FDA of this recall.
