A disturbing incident unfolded earlier this month at a San Pablo, California, fast-food restaurant, prompting a swift response from the San Pablo Police Department.
On December 6, An employee was forced to dial 9-1-1 after a disgruntled customer, angered by missing french fries from her order, escalated the situation to a dangerous level.

Initially, the customer sent her young children inside to address the missing items. Employees attempted to de-escalate the situation, requesting the mother enter the establishment with her receipt to rectify the order.
“The mother returned in a “hangry” state and began threatening to attack several employees, telling them she had a gun in her purse,” said the San Pablo Police Department in a statement.
Responding officers arrived promptly and confirmed the presence of a loaded pistol in the woman’s purse, which was being held by her 9-year-old daughter. Officers secured the weapon and, with the cooperation of the child, ensured it was rendered safe.

The woman was subsequently arrested on charges of criminal threats with a firearm and child endangerment. Authorities contacted the children’s father, who arrived to take custody of them.
