PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County residents who suffered roof damage from Hurricane Milton can apply for a free temporary blue roof through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Operation Blue Roof program. The deadline to apply has been extended to November 14th.
To assist residents with the application process, a new mobile registration unit will be stationed at the beach access parking lot at 4700 Gulf Blvd, St. Pete Beach, from Wednesday, October 30th, to Friday, November 1st, between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

How to Apply:
- In-person: Visit the mobile registration unit in St. Pete Beach.
- Online: Register at BlueRoof.gov.
- Phone: Call 888-ROOF-BLU (888-766-3258).
Eligibility:
- Primary residences only (no vacation rentals).
- Less than 50% of roof framing damaged.
- Roof must be standard shingles or similar material suitable for nailing.
- Roofs made of slate, asbestos, clay tile, or metal may not be eligible.
Homeowners are responsible for removing large debris, such as trees, from their roofs before installation. The Operation Blue Roof team will remove homeowner-installed tarps and minor debris.
