ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg Fire Rescue is partnering with St. Petersburg Police Department and St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation for a free life jacket giveaway event to help children stay safe in and around water.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death in the United States among children 1 to 4 years of age and the third leading cause of unintentional death among children/adolescents 5 to 19 years of age.
In efforts to prevent these tragedies from occurring, we will be at Northwest Pool on Wednesday, July 26th, distributing water safety information and free life jackets for children while supplies last.
