For decades now, liberals have denounced the Fox News Channel as a tool of the right, and “Faux News” — and ignored or papered over their own anti-Republican biases in news coverage.

But a new poll shows that Fox News is the one that can actually claim CNN’s motto as “the most trusted name in news.”

A YouGov poll released on Thursday showed that respondents trust Fox News more than its rivals by a wide margin.

Overall, 41% said Fox is the network they trust most.

That nearly doubled the second and third finishers, ABC and CNN, which received 24% and 22% respectively. Fox more than twice its other cable challenger, MSNBC, which stood at 18%, good for last place in the YouGov survey.

Fox News was also the most viewed, claiming 39%, six points ahead of runner-up ABC News and 10 points above CNN.

Bringing up the rear in this aspect was CBS News, with just 4% of respondents saying they watch the network.

Mediaite, which reported on the survey, noted this is not a new thing for Fox News.
