Four Indicted In Louisiana Kidnapping And Ransom Case

Four individuals have been indicted on federal kidnapping charges in New Orleans following an alleged ransom plot that involved holding a victim captive and demanding money from his family.

Hector Mondragon-Flores, 32, Edwin Salgado-Nunez, 29, Abel Garcia, 48, and Jannette Ramirez, 33, are accused of conspiring to kidnap and hold a victim for ransom between October 1st and 2nd, 2024.

According to court documents, the defendants held the victim at gunpoint, bound his hands and feet, and threatened to kill him if his father didn’t pay a $7,000 ransom.

After receiving a partial payment of $3,000, they allegedly attempted to extort additional money from the victim’s girlfriend. The victim was eventually released after withdrawing $400 from an ATM.

Mondragon-Flores faces additional charges of assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon and being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm.

If convicted, the defendants could face life in prison.
