FORT MYERS, Fla. – Shadarien Lamarr Ward, a 22-year-old Fort Myers resident with an apparent fondness for pizza shops and a disregard for the law, has found himself in a bit of a pickle. He’s been arrested and charged with federal crimes for allegedly robbing a pizza shop at gunpoint.
It seems his late-night cravings got the best of him on September 1st, leading to a rather unfortunate series of events.

According to court documents, Ward decided to take matters into his own hands (literally) when he stormed into a pizza shop near downtown Fort Myers, brandishing a firearm and demanding the contents of the cash register. In the process, he also allegedly pistol-whipped an employee.
Luckily, Ward’s getaway wasn’t as smooth as he might have hoped. Thanks to a combination of surveillance footage and the GPS monitor he was wearing as a registered sex offender (talk about a double whammy!), law enforcement was hot on his trail.
Despite his attempts to ditch the monitor and vanish into the night, he was eventually apprehended in North Fort Myers.

Ward is facing the possibility of a lifetime behind bars.
The case is being investigated by the ATF and the Fort Myers Police Department, with Assistant United States Attorney Simon Eth ready to serve up some justice.
