Emhoff previously served as Second Gentleman of the United States, a role in which he represented the U.S. on numerous diplomatic missions, including appearances at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the Women’s World Cup in New Zealand. He was also a key advocate in the administration’s efforts to combat antisemitism and expand access to legal aid.

Before entering public service, Emhoff built a distinguished legal career, advising corporate clients and high-profile figures in entertainment, media, sports, technology, and business sectors. His expertise in navigating high-stakes disputes has earned him a reputation as a leading strategist and advocate.

Alongside his new role at Willkie, Emhoff will continue his commitment to public service as a board member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, an appointment he recently accepted. He will also remain an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, where he teaches courses on entertainment law.

Willkie’s Litigation Department is recognized for its national and international practice, representing major financial institutions, accounting firms, insurance companies, and media organizations in high-profile commercial and class-action litigation. The firm sees Emhoff’s addition as an opportunity to further enhance its capabilities in handling complex global legal challenges.
