TAMPA, FL. – The Tampa Police Department arrested 61-year-old former police officer, Paul Mumford this afternoon on 100 counts of child pornography.
The department was informed that he was in possession of illegal images of children on his electronic devices in December of 2021.
The department conducted a series of search warrants beginning in January at his two homes. Detectives found child pornography on multiple electronic devices.
He was immediately relieved of duty, and on February 15, 2022, the Tampa Police Department officially terminate him from the reserve force.
Though Mumford was arrested today, the investigation is ongoing and more charges could be pending.
Mumford served as a police officer with the Tampa Police Department from June of 1986 through September of 2015.
In October of 2015, Mumford returned to TPD as a reserve officer.
